Kanye West has a Breakdown; Earlier this year his mother died as a result to plastic surgery and medication confusion. Then he broke up with his fiancé Alexis Phifer. Finally he releases what he calls his "therapy" album 808’s and Heartbreak.
Chain Snatchers; So, the recession had niggas broke, so instead of getting more hours on the job, they decided to steal chains from rappers and hold them ransom. Victims like Tyga and Yung Berg, then posted videos whining about the stolen goods. Wait... who could forget that 50 claimed that he had his chains snatched when he was in the Motherland.
Beyonce Makes a Comeback; Bias, yes, I love me some Bey, but we cannot negate the fact that her comeback was righteous. On November 25, 2008 at 12am Bey fans anticipated, I AM…Sasha Fierce a double disc album and (what seemed like forever for fans), the return the Queen in the game. Beyonce’s returned was packed with a new sound and the unveiling of her alter ego Sasha Fierce.
Everybody Making Hi Tops; I do love me some hi tops; actually I don’t where sneakers that are below the ankles, that is just my swag. From Supra to Visim as well as Vans and Bathing Ape, everyone seemed to catch the same creative bug to make a Hi Top line, especially during the summer and even into the fall/ winter lines. Even Kanye a strong advocate of Hi Tops, made a comment about the same ole styles."EVERYBODY MAKES THE EXACT SAME SHOE... I'M GETTING SLEEPY... NEW IDEAS ANYONE????!!!!!!!!!"
The Return of the 80’s and the Lost that was Fanny Pack; I put these two together because it was both happy and sad realization for fashionista/os in America. If anyone were to negate that the 80’s were back or the 80’s style that was coming back was trash were rooting for Fanny Pack and as stellar dance group they dressed the part to a “T” even if you thought it was corny. Fanny Pack was definitely the fresh kids of the summer. Don’t forget that the return of LA GEAR, Hi Top Reebok Pumps, Gazelle Shades and 3 Parts in a fade just solidified the return of the 80’s with vengeance.
Hilary Cries; Ok, so your probably asking yourself why this is on my list, well first off if you did not know I was and still am a Hilary fan, secondly, this is the one moment the media could not and would not let go, and who could blame them. As if people did not already have their own perception about Hilary being a “bitch” or a “man-eater.” Clinton’s crying reiterated more stereotypes about the strength of women and their validity in politics.
Sarah Palin Cracks Us Up; I don’t know where the foolery began exactly from seeing Russia in your backyard in Alaska. Or was it the skank daughter that she paraded after it was released she was pregnant. Maybe it could have been the whole First Dude, thing. Who knows, but she made me laugh and Tina Fey was the perfect cherry on top of a gut buster that Sarah Palin.
Bush Gets Attacked; Bush is stupid and somebody finally tried to get that ass. I am so happy that he is packing up from the White House in a couple of weeks.
Year of the Comeback; Many Throwback cats came back, some revivals were worth the wait, while others were not worth the mention.

Auto-Tune on Turbo; It seems as if a select group of artist had seen Auto-tune infomercial and decided this was a great product to enhance creativity, Or they just considered putting T-Pain on the hook, and felt that his auto-tune effect was just as suffice.

R Kelly Gets Off; Finally Kells nasty ass gets a court date, goes to trial, Nancy Grace rants for weeks and in the end Robert is found not guilty? All I know is that these accusations came out when I was 15 and we had ALL seen the tapes and those girls were my little cousins’ classmates.
Michael and Whitney’s Singles Get Leaked and Then Suddenly Get Lost; Does anyone remember the hoopla over the comeback that was two greatest artist of all time. Both artists had singles and Whitney was even on a track with Akon. Well, their tracks got leaked, and we all know that Mike’s people wasn’t having it. In the exact same week of the leaks both singles vanished as if they had never existed. Granted both of the singles were sketchy, every blogger jumped to their laptops to post the song, Now there are no traces of the blogs that were.
Mariah Carey Marries Nick Cannon; Now there is not much to add to this headline, it speaks for itself. When this bomb was dropped everyone dropped what they were doing from scrambled eggs to babies and logged on to there fave blog site to give their two cents. Whether you accused the new couple by saying that Mariah used this as a publicity stunt or to top Beyonce, at the end of the day you couldn’t say the two did not look cute together. But really what would this diva want with this boney “All That” has been or Drumline star? Who knows…
OJ Is Really in Jail This Time; This nigga thought since his crime wasn’t “that bad,” he could easily get off, and the fact that Cochran is no longer with us he had little chance of getting a 3rd chance. Well here is to OJ's 99 years to life....
Lastly, and certainly not least.
OBAMA BECOMING THE FIRST AFRICAN-AMERICAN PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES!!!!! What can I say, he ran a great campaign, he had comeback for every hater remark and out of this world media creation. He was mild tempered, showed his human side and let us know that WE are in this together he finished (or started to finish) a legacy started by Martin Luther King Jr. and Shirley Chisholm. BARACK OBAMA!!!
